The course “Psychological Foundation of Education” is a Core Course in B.A and Honors in Education under the Choice Based Credit System (CBSE). The course has been meticulously designed to acquaint and enlighten the students about key concepts regarding various theoretical and practical concepts of Psychological Basis of Education and complement the understanding of different topics of Psychological foundations with special reference and focus on significance of Psychological basis of Education, Growth and Development, learning and Motivation, Personality and Environment.The objectives of this course are to give the target students are as:To realize the relationship between psychology and education.To know the patterns of different aspects of human developments and relate this knowledge with Education.To be acquainted with cognitive approach to development and thus to understand the processes and factors of cognition.To understand the need of motivation and its effect on learningTo be acquainted with diagnostic ways and provisions for creative children.To know the concept of personality and its assessment from psychological perspective.To understand the nature of personality development.To understand the stages of moral development.To know the importance of mental health and mental hygiene.To understand the role of guidance and counseling at different stages of development.
